The extensive walled and gated grounds offer complete privacy. A choice of shady and sunny terraces are surrounded by colourful and scented Mediterranean garden areas. There are fruit trees and natural wilderness areas to explore, including a Frog or "Rā" pond, which gives the Quinta its name - "Farm of the Frogs"!
Beside the house, a terrace, shaded by Bourgainvillea and Carob, provides the ideal place to dine in the summer sun. Alternatively, try the sunny roof terrace with views over the grounds and Ria Formosa to the sea - or venture there in the dark- it’s the perfect vantage point for the amazing Algarve night sky.
A lovely landscaped path leads from the house to the secluded pool area. The beautiful saltwater pool is a huge 9 x 12 m. It is surrounded by a terracotta tiled sun terrace with lots of room for sunloungers, tables and chairs. Alongside, there is a traditional ‘Cabana’ or outside dining room, complete with its own grapevines, dartboard and geckos! The pool and terrace are completely private with views over the Ria Formosa toward the sea. In the evenings, as sunset approaches, sit quietly in the Cabana and watch the swifts and bats perform their acrobatic displays over the pool. Often, half an hour after dusk, a nightjar appears silently in flight to hover and take a drink from the pool.
At Quinta da Rā - relax and forget the world exists - 'A perfect sunshine retreat'.
Please note that the swimming pool is 1.5m deep in the shallow end and 2.2 m in the deep end, so may not be suitable for small children or non-swimmers.
